Student Financial Services seeks to employ a motivated, engaged, and curious work study-eligible student to improve the work we do to serve students and their families.  

If you are interested in being part of the solution while getting paid to complete your degree, read on. We need the voice of the student to inform and improve how we communicate, across channels and to a variety of audiences. Many of our communications are transactional and/or calls to action, but that doesn’t mean they need to be boring! You will help us connect in more meaningful ways with our audience to improve their experience and ensure they understand we care about their success.

No prior multi-media experience is , but it is a plus. Preference will be given for 1st-year students, whether undergraduate or graduate/professional. 

We seek help with a variety of communications-related tasks, including: 

  • Drafting student-friendly social media posts for SFS outreach and assisting with the creation of short videos or reels for digital content 
  • Helping to brainstorm, plan, and create informative content for our website and social media using tools like Canva 
  • Reviewing written content (emails, web pages, etc.) from a student perspective and providing honest and direct feedback on tone and clarity 
  • Assisting with website content updates and light proofreading 
  • Supporting financial wellness events promoted by Peer Financial Counseling and SFS 
  • Taking photos or capturing short clips at events for use in outreach 
  • Gathering student testimonials or insights from peers for communications 
  • Tracking and summarizing basic engagement data (e.g., likes, views, clicks) using SiteImprove  

Interested students should upload to Workday 1) a resume/work history, 2) A writing sample that displays your particular writing style (no more than 300 words) and 3) a clearly written cover letter of no more than one page.

This position will remain open until filled. 

Work will be almost exclusively remote with occasional requests for in-person activities in Carruthers Hall (up by the Barracks Road Shopping Center on the Gold bus line) and periodic activities on Central Grounds.

The pay for this position will be $17.00 per hour.

The start date of the position will be September 8, 2025 or later for the selected candidate, the position will end May 8, 2026.
