Reports to: Site Director
Primary Location: Ft. Gordon YCP in person and Virtual/Online
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree or higher with valid Georgia teaching certificate.
- Highly qualified to teach class assigned as defined by the Georgia PSC.
- High school experience preferred; understanding of GSE required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the virtual instruction program in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills.
- Experience with a virtual learning environment preferred.
- Knowledge of instructional best practices for online learning.
- Must complete Online Teaching Course in Canvas
- Requires availability from 8:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m. AND 1:15 p.m.-3:45 p.m. on scheduled work days. Approximately 10 hours per week.
Duties/Responsibilities for this position:
- Proctor tests for all content-area testing.
- Manage testing room, including inviting assigned students to test, monitoring during testing, recording scores,etc.
- Ensure proper implementation of testing accommodations in accordance with IEPs / 504s.
- Communicate with administrators, teachers, parents and students as necessary.
- Serve as a teacher advisor to assigned students. Assist with the monitoring of student progress, and notify the site director and other appropriate individuals when progress is behind the anticipated schedule.
- Participate in system and local efforts of professional learning; teachers will utilize and implement skills and best practices obtained in professional learning in the classroom to raise the achievement of students.
- Utilize time effectively
- Effectively manage the behavior of learners to ensure the environment is conducive to the learning process.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate student grade records and attendance records.
- Participate virtually in faculty and professional meetings, professional learning, and other training working through the site director and/or curriculum director and apply concepts learned in the classroom to increase student learning.
- Meet the performance and behavioral expectations of the Site Director.
