This is a remote position.
- Provide saxophone lessons to students, focusing on technique, repertoire, music theory and performance skills.
- Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student's individual goals, abilities, and learning styles.
- Evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Prepare students for performances, auditions and competitions as needed.
- Encourage and inspire students to develop a love for music and saxophone playing.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding lesson schedules, progress and expectations.
- Stay updated with new teaching methodologies, music trends and saxophone repertoire.
Requirements
Essentials Skills:
- Proficiency in saxophone playing and a strong understanding of music theory.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably with a diverse range of students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their musical goals.
- Patience, flexibility and a passion for teaching music.
- A degree in music or equivalent professional experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Skills (Preferred but not required):
- Experience in ensemble coaching or conducting.
- Familiarity with various musical styles (Classical, Jazz, Contemporary etc.).
- Knowledge of music technology and its integration into teaching (Recording, Digital Notation etc.).
