Council for Aid to Education, Inc. (CAE) is seeking an Engineering Assessment Content Editor.  The Lead Engineering Assessment Content Editor will be responsible for the development of high-quality, curriculum-aligned, end-of-course assessment content for High School.

The Lead Engineering Assessment Content Editor will work closely with the client, CAE’s assessment development team, and a pool of freelance content developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Familiarizing with course curriculum and standards
  • Participating in the revision of an assessment framework
  • Participating in developing test blueprints for each assessed course
  • Taking editorial responsibility for the development of high-quality curriculum-aligned stimuli and items
  • Interpreting and applying assessment specifications and style guidelines
  • Working within a modern test development platform
  • Training writers and editors
  • Recording, updating, and communicating client decisions to the development team
  • Ensuring consistent application of specifications across grades
  • Reviewing content developers’ work and providing clear, actionable feedback
  • Attending weekly meetings with the client and content developers
  • Coordinating schedule, process, and deliverables with CAE’s Program Manager to ensure that the project stays on time and within budget
  • Assembling test forms according to detailed criteria
  • Participating in virtual or in-person content review meetings

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Familiarity with standards and frameworks
  • Strong writing and editorial skills
  • Ability to manage and provide feedback to content developers
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience teaching engineering
  • Experience leading teams of assessment developers or curriculum developers
  • Experience working directly with clients


Scope:

  • Exact start date and schedule are to be determined, but the project will likely begin in July 2023 and run through June 30, 2024
  • Minimum 20-hour per week
  • Payment to be determined based on experience
