Location: Remote

Position Overview:
The Daily Grace Co. is seeking a contract writer for a special project: a Christ-centered book that offers biblical encouragement and hope to readers who have experienced pain or disappointment within the church. The ideal candidate will have deep theological insight, strong writing skills, and a personal understanding of how relational and spiritual wounds in the church can affect faith, trust, and daily life.

Because this project is deeply personal, the writer has likely navigated their own experiences of church-related hurt and is able to write with honesty and empathy. They must address these struggles with relevant storytelling, biblical truth, and sensitivity to emotional and psychological impacts—always pointing readers toward Christ and the hope of healing and restoration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (studies in theology, Bible, English, humanities, journalism, or counseling/psychology preferred)
  • Understanding of covenant theology
  • Strong grasp of biblical theology and how all of Scripture points to Jesus
  • Personal experience with struggles related to church hurt, with the ability to write authentically and pastorally about those challenges
  • Familiarity with how church wounds intersect with mental and emotional health (e.g., grief, mistrust, relational tension, anxiety)
  • Ability to make deep theological truths accessible to a broad audience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the writing and editing process
  • Organized and self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Comfortable with collaborative writing and constructive feedback

Scope of Work:

  • Research, outline, and write a full-length manuscript (50,000–75,000 words) on healing after church hurt from a biblical perspective
  • Weave together theology, Scripture, encouragement, and practical application with sensitivity to readers’ struggles
  • Incorporate stories, examples, and applications that resonate with those who have been hurt by church experiences, leaders, or community, emphasizing Christ’s care and the possibility of restoration
  • Collaborate with the editorial team for feedback and revisions
  • Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitments

Commitment: Contract, per-project basis

Compensation: Determined per project scope

Additional Information:
Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Participation in team meetings, workshops, and collaborative sessions may be requested based on project type and timeline.
