We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for media, journalism, and communications professionals experienced in reviewing editorial materials, media documents, communications plans, press materials, audience messaging, spreadsheets, slide decks, and presentation-ready communications artifacts for accuracy, rigor, clarity, and domain quality.
This role supports current and upcoming remote consulting opportunities focused on media and journalism artifact review, communications materials evaluation, rubric-based assessment, document and spreadsheet review, slide deck quality review, structured feedback, and high-quality project execution. Selected professionals will evaluate AI-generated work products and apply subject-matter expertise to identify factual, editorial, aesthetic, and presentation issues.

Media & Journalism Artifact Review
- Evaluate AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks involving journalism, media strategy, editorial planning, communications materials, press content, audience messaging, and content summaries
- Review media and communications materials for accuracy, completeness, rigor, clarity, and practical relevance
- Assess whether materials demonstrate strong editorial judgment, factual accuracy, clear sourcing, and appropriate audience framing
- Identify unsupported claims, unclear messaging, weak narrative structure, factual errors, inconsistent tone, or poor linkage between evidence and conclusions
Communications Quality & Editorial Evaluation
- Review materials involving press releases, media pitches, editorial calendars, briefing documents, newsletters, content plans, stakeholder updates, media kits, and presentation decks
- Assess whether communications materials are clear, polished, audience-appropriate, and suitable for public-facing or stakeholder-facing use
- Evaluate editorial summaries, messaging frameworks, media analyses, communication plans, and executive-facing recommendations for rigor and usability
- Provide clear written feedback that improves media and communications artifact quality
Spreadsheet, Document & Presentation Quality Review
- Review spreadsheets for structure, logic, calculations, formatting, usability, and consistency
- Assess slide decks for organization, visual clarity, executive readability, and presentation quality
- Identify factual, aesthetic, formatting, and presentation errors across Microsoft Office and Google Workspace files
- Apply consistent review standards across documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks
Ideal Profile
Strong candidates may have:
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in journalism, media, communications, editorial work, public relations, corporate communications, content strategy, audience engagement, newsroom work, or related fields
- Native or professional fluency in English
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Strong experience with Google Slides, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Sheets, Word, and Google Docs
- Ability to evaluate documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to provide structured feedback
- Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
Educational Background
- Academic backgrounds in journalism, communications, media studies, public relations, English, writing, marketing, political communication, digital media, or related fields may be relevant
- Advanced degree from a reputable institution may be valuable
- Professional training in journalism, editorial review, fact-checking, media relations, public communications, or content strategy may also be relevant depending on project scope
Nice to Have
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field
- Experience creating or reviewing press releases, media pitches, editorial calendars, newsletters, media kits, briefing documents, communication plans, content strategy materials, or executive communications decks
- Familiarity with AP Style, fact-checking practices, editorial standards, media monitoring, audience analytics, stakeholder messaging, and public-facing communication quality
- Experience with tools such as Cision, Meltwater, Muck Rack, Google Analytics, social analytics platforms, CMS tools, or comparable media and communications platforms
- Strong ability to evaluate both editorial substance and visual/presentation quality
