    DESCRIPTION:

    The Nassau BOCES Center for Online Learning / Online Learning Academy is seeking New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certified teachers to facilitate virtual courses on a part-time basis for approximately 1 � 6 hours per week outside of traditional school hours. Course facilitation can be completed during evening hours, with optional weekend flexibility for teachers who are currently employed. Teachers who are not currently employed and/or retired can facilitate asynchronous work during the school day. All Part-time Virtual Teachers are required to hold weekly synchronous meetings outside of school hours so students can attend. Required ongoing, no-cost professional development focused on effective virtual instruction and online course facilitation will be provided. Bilingual teachers are encouraged to apply.

     

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • NYSED Certification:  K-12 teachers with a valid NYSED teaching certification in any content area are encouraged to apply. However, we are especially in need of teachers with certifications in the following content areas:

       

      • American Sign Language (ASL)
      • Computer Science A
      • Earth Science
      • Family and Consumer Science
      • French
      • Health
      • Italian
      • Music
      • Latin

     


    SALARY:  As per labor contract
