This role is focused on creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for cloud-based platforms, with a strong emphasis on AWS environments.
You will translate complex cloud, infrastructure, and governance concepts into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation.
The position plays a key role in defining policies, standards, and procedures that support scalable and secure cloud operations.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and governance teams to ensure documentation accuracy and consistency.
The environment is highly technical, fast-paced, and suited for someone comfortable working across cloud and IT process domains.
This is a contract opportunity where clarity, precision, and documentation discipline directly support enterprise cloud maturity.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain cloud documentation including policies, standards, procedures, and process guides for AWS-based environments.
- Write and organize clear process documentation supporting cloud operations, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to translate engineering and security concepts into accessible documentation.
- Support documentation improvements related to cloud governance, IT security alignment, and operational best practices.
- Contribute to refining documentation structure and, where applicable, process engineering initiatives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a technical writer in cloud, IT infrastructure, or enterprise technology environments.
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud concepts and cloud platform documentation needs.
- Experience writing policy, standards, procedures, and structured process documentation.
- Familiarity with IT governance, cloud governance, and/or IT security principles (nice to have).
- Exposure to process engineering or workflow optimization (nice to have).
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical topics.
- Ability to work independently in a remote contract environment.
- Must be a US Citizen, Green Card holder, or H4-EAD eligible.
- Portfolio or sample documentation work is highly valued.
